Recently, Canon has launched its new series of color printers for professional photo printing represented with imagePROGRAF PRO-1000. The model is a desktop-based 17-inch professional photo printer combining technologies and the best features from two famous Canon printer series: 1. Free-standing, large-format imagePROGRAF and 2. High-end desktop-based PIXMA PRO. The novelty is geared for photography schools, advertising agencies, design companies as well as independent photographers.
Canon PRO-1000 features perfect print quality together with advanced productivity, scalability and versatility. All this is achieved by:
- 1.5 larger than PIXMA PRO-1 print head with 18,432 nozzles and higher print speed with 32 million ink droplets per second. Special print head technology minimizes clogging by detecting the clogged nozzles and utilizing nearby nozzles to compensate for the clogged ones.
- New LUCIA PRO 11-color plus Chroma Optimizer ink system allowing to produce deeper blacks by more dense distribution of ink meaning more ink can be laid onto the paper without ink bleed.
- A new dual-vacuum feeder system via feed roller system for accurate ink distribution keeping the paper uniformly flat and controlling the speed of paper handling.
The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 is already on the shelves for an estimated retail price of $1,299.99 and ink cartridges retailing for $59.99 each.
