The printer consumables’ cost and frequency of change were always a sore point of printing industry. Nowadays, there are several decisions to this problem: Epson provides refillable ink tanks, HP—a subscription program ordering new cartridges online when the old ones are running out of ink, and now the Brother’s way of solution—to put more inks in the box. The producers claim that with this amount of inks you’ll need to change the cartridge only in two years.

The solution is represented in 2 new Brother INKvestment series color inkjet all-in-ones—the MFC-J985DW and MFC-J985DW XL—for individual use, home and small offices. Both the devices are the best available Brother printers just with a higher cartridge yield.

With the average amount of 200 jobs per month and the cartridge yields of 2,400 pages in B/W and 1,200 pages in color the cost per page goes down to 1 cent for B/W and 5 cents for color page. To compare with other Brother printers, average cost per page is around 2-3 cents for B/W page. And, statistically, when the ink is cheap enough, users don’t usually rely on third-party options, so the new gadgets shouldn’t have troubles selling.

Both printers are already available online and will be on the shelves in July.
