Recently, Epson has announced a new revolutionary line of ink printers and MFPs—Workforce Pro RIPS. According to the producer, who had spent 125 million Euros on the development, the new line printers are built on the PrecisionCore technology. It was used earlier only in industrial-class printing devices.
Epson informs that new machines provide long-lasting printing of up to 75,000 pages with no need of a cartridge or other consumables change (RIPS means “Replaceable Ink Pack System”). The company aims to compete lasers and to substitute them to inks in the business segment.
There will be 15 models of printers for the workgroups of different sizes. Some could deal with the A3 format paper. The four-color cartridges (CMYK) come standard with big ink bundles. A maximum monthly duty cycle of the gadgets is said to be 35,000 pages per month and from 1500 to 2500 pages per month of the real printing volume. All this prolongs the cartridge life to more than the average printer life.
Epson Workforce Pro printers and MFPs will only be available through Epson’s channel. The pricing information has not yet been announced.
