Printer ink accidents are formidable. Get ink on your hands, and it won’t be long before you get ink everywhere. Trust us, we’ve been there; that’s when we decided to do a bit of digging.
Find yourself in an ink dilemma? Need to get printer ink off your hands and off your equipment fast? Below, Toner Cartridge Ink will direct you to 3 at-home items to clean up stubborn printer ink messes for good!
Rubbing alcohol (aka Isopropyl alcohol if you want to get technical) is the #1 solution to remove ink from your hands and/or equipment. All you need to do is pour a little of the solution onto your hands and rub away until the ink starts to peel. The last steps are to wash your hands with warm water and soap and apply some lotion to prevent your hands from drying out.
Nail Polish Remover
Nail polish remover contains acetone which helps to dissolve unwanted nail polish. When nail polish remover touches ink, the same thing happens. To remove printer ink, dip a cotton ball or towel in nail polish remover and start rubbing it against the ink. Then, wash your hands and apply some lotion.
Believe it or not, hairspray isn’t just for hair. But, the only caveat is that the hairspray needs to be alcohol-based (which luckily, most are). Spray a generous amount of hairspray on your inky hands, clothes, or equipment, and let the magic happen. Set a timer for 30-seconds or just count, and then wipe away with a damp cloth.
P.S. if you don’t have hairspray, a perfume that includes alcohol works just as well!
