The Canon of Japan introduced the home market two new models of multifunction printers, PIXMA MX833 and PIXMA MX420, designed for small office and home users.
Both MFPs are equipped with a scanner with a 30-35-sheets feeder, have at their disposal wireless adapters such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0. The devices are capable of storing received faxes to external memory. Printing is possible not only from the computer, but also from a PictBridge-enabled camera as well as from a external USB drive, which can store scanned images.
The controls are located on the front panel, composed of a shield and a group of function buttons.
Resolution of the MX420 is 4800 × 1200 dpi for the 4-color pigment ink jet printer (2 pl droplet size) and 2400 × 4800 dpi for the CIS-scanner. The senior model MX833 suports two-sided scanning and printing, as well as a higher resolution: 9600 × 2400 dpi (1 pl droplet size) for printing and 2400 × 4800 dpi scanning. Another feature of the MX833 is the use of the second shade of black, which results in a higher printing speed.
